Best For

These Bose QuietComfort 35 II headphones are great for all around use and I bring mine everywhere when traveling. Music sounds amazing, yet these are still good for calls, can function as wireless or wired headphones, and they are great at noise-cancelling. The only thing these would be awkward for is running and working out, though I know people that do.

Design

The design for these is is improved over previous models as far as appearance goes. These are great for all-day comfort and the matte finish looks great. I’ve worn mine flying 8 hours to London from Chicago with no comfort or performance issues whatsoever. They look sleek and the buttons are intuitively right where you’d look for them.

Great looking headphones, fold up nicely, good padding, and nice carrying case. Now offered in 3 or 4 colors, depending on where you get them: black, silver, rose gold, blue (limited). These do not offer the pass-thru ambient noise mode, which Bose calls “Awareness Mode”. That feature did not appear until the new QuietComfort 45, released in late 2021.

Sound

Bose headphones sound great. There are some audiophiles that may not like the sound of Bose because it’s not completely flat, but I really enjoy listening to my music on Bose headphones. High frequencies are clear and separated, and the bass is low and powerful without getting muddy.

Summary

Great over ear headphones with class-leading noise-cancelling technology. Though pricey for daily use, these are essential for travelers and for all around usage, including tuning out noise while working from home. Bose released an updated model to these in late 2021, known as the QuietComfort 45’s, adding additional features.

Class-leading features in these QC 35’s include great noise-cancelling performance and an integrated microphone for making calls and attending online meetings, or gaming. The microphone is not great, but is quite functional. Bose released a gaming headset version of these QC35 headphones which include a mic boom for improved voice quality.

Conveniently, these headphones include a cable you can use to use these as wired headphones when needed. I use the cable to plug into my VR headset to really improve the VR experience. I also use it for plugging into my Roku remote when I want to watch loud movies without disturbing others in the house.

These headphones set the standard for noise-cancelling wireless headphones that sound great in nearly any scenario, have a long battery life, are sturdy, well-made, and fold up nicely.

Now that the successor to these have come out, the QC45 headphones, these QC35 II are often found to be more expensive at most retailers that still carry the older model.
